The purpose of this wild and good time is to help the less fortunate of the world, by
beating yourself up!  Each year, I foresee using 100% of the Tri, Tri Again's profits for
doing a little bit of good in the world.

What is good?  God is good.  The first year's event (
2008) raised over $2,700, thanks to
generous donations to the event through many sponsorships, Tri, Tri Again shirt sales,
and athletes' entry fees.  100% of that year's profits went directly into my church's
Mission Trip Fund to assist with our present and future missionaries' efforts to spread the
word of God through demonstrating His unfailing love in work projects both locally and
worldwide.

In
2009, 50% of the event's nearly $3,000 in proceeds went to benefit First Lutheran’s
Mission Trip Fund again, while 50% were donated to WGRC, a Contemporary Christian
radio station.  WGRC is our local station which has the following mission:

-
To proclaim the person of Jesus Christ by means of contemporary Christian music programming.
-To draw people to a saving knowledge of and personal relationship with God’s only Son, Jesus Christ.
-To support and strengthen individuals and families by communicating principles of "biblically-based,
godly" living.
-To provide a wholesome, attractive radio format which will reach the greatest number of people.

Personally, WGRC had been my umbilical cord to God through my rough and stubborn
years of coming to Christ in the past.  Life is much more beautiful in His light, once you've
come out of the darkness that this world attempts to surround us with daily.  And for that,
I am forever grateful to WGRC.

I decided in
2010 that the Tri, Tri Again would be held to benefit two well deserving
causes once again.  I decided to continue to support WGRC with 50% of the event's
profits once again.  Radio ministries are so important in reaching those in need while in
their car, at home alone, or wherever they may be.  WGRC Christian Radio reaches
thousands who may not have stepped foot in a church to learn God's grace and love.
Thank you WGRC.  The other 50% of 2010's Tri, Tri Again profits went directly to
Kelsey's Dream.  This organization was started on a dream founded by a beautiful little
12 year old girl, Kelsey Kuhns, who lost her battle with leukemia in 2005.  Her love and
inspiration continues to help children with cancer today, through the love, efforts, and
financial contributions attained through Kelsey's Dream.  Interested in helping? You can
find out more at
www.kelseysdream.org.

2011 will see profits from the Tri, Tri Again split once again between Kelsey's Dream and
another deserving recipient.  I've decided to use profits from this year's event to benefit
the
Mike Hobbins Recovery Fund.  As a local football coach, hunter, husband, and
father, Mike was accidentally shot by another hunter while turkey hunting on opening day
in 2010.  He is still without eyesight, and your financial support, thoughts, and prayers
are much appreciated.  So sign up today, and help others with your own blood, sweat
and possibly tears!

But don’t be fooled by the good causes that this event benefits…it’s still a highly
vigorous, challenging, and demanding event which can kick your butt back into last week
if you’re not physically prepared.  Never try any strenuous activity without checking with
your doctor or scale first…you might hurt yourself…seriously.
"To compete in a triathlon is to test the human body and soul.
To reach out to people in need is to test the human heart and spirit.
To win the triathlon is a victory for self.
To commit to give one's heart for others is a victory for God."

                                     Peace and Blessings,

"Let us now run with perseverance the race that God has set before us.  We do this
by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.  He
was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would
be his afterward.  Now he is seated in the place of highest honor beside God's
throne in heaven"
